To inform ASORM Members and clubs: THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
Only believe information you hear on our official web page www.asorm.ca. Information regarding ASORM elsewhere is either not authorized or it could be false. Thank you for your time in reading this.
We are about to give you information regarding a person(s) who does not want to be named and for legal reasons we cannot name him.
We have heard that someone from the AOHVA is calling an ASORM meeting in November. If you get an invitation to this meeting please ignore it. This is NOT an official meeting for ASORM. This individual is NOT even a member of ASORM and has no legal standing to call a meeting for ARORM. If you get an invitation to this meeting please ignore it. We will be sending out renewal notices to our members in the next month, and a notice for our actual Annual General Meeting once we have a time and location set up. As previously mentioned, there are people dedicated to keeping the organized Off-Road Motorcycle community in Alberta from representing our own interests.
A point of interest is that this person sat in on the second half of ASORMs last AGM and nominated himself for multiple board positions. Each of his nominations for himself received no seconder, nor support of any kind from ASORMs membership. But amazingly, he proceeded to file falsified documents with Alberta Registries that he had been elected to the board. This issue, in addition to an error by ASORMs bank has been corrected. The banks error was to inadvertently permit him to alter ASORMs mailing address, and subsequently, to allow funds to be misappropriated from ASORMs account. The entire matter has been handed over to the RCMP.
Know that we are always available to answer any of your questions, to listen to your concerns and suggestions, and of course, to help you get more involved with ASORM activities and initiatives!
Our best regards from your complete, legitimate Alberta Society of Off-Road Motorcyclists Board;
